As you might have understood Enhörningen is the Swedish word for the Unicorn. With +600 members we are Swedens largest single LARP-society, and our main activity is medival/fantasy. We even own our own landspot where we're raising a LARP-village, but more of that in an other part. Now, lets look at some history...
We have been around since
1991, and the picture you could see on the first page is taken around then. The
one to the right is a bit later. In an ordinary year we organize about 5-6 LARPs.
They are beginners-LARPs, ordinary medival/fantasy or in our campaign- world.
Each one attracts more than 300 participators, but we mainly put our limit there,
although some are larger. Our goal is to give each group an own story, but we
often do more than that, and go into personal stories. It becomes a lot of
writing...
But, that's not all of our activities. As mentioned we own our own place, and together we build it up. For the moment there is an inn, two houses, a shelter, a ruin, a tower, a mattamore serving as a dungeon, and a whole lot of foundations. The plan is that it never shall stop growing, just as an ordinary village. But there is a little difference, no one is living there permanently - yet. Besides that we try to get information about the hobby out to the society, and thereby win a higher acceptance. That aint to good in Sweden. What we do is to cooperate with other societys, helping them out with activitys on summer-camps and so. We also participate in a few information-films, mostly to be shown in schools. The subjects are swifting, but a couple of examples are foodproduction and non-violence. Exhibitions are an other place you can find us, also there in swifting subjects. Mostly it's about some of our hobbys parts, like sewing and so.
